President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of the Department of Energy, Chris Wright, is receiving praise from Republican lawmakers and industry groups, while environmentalists warn he would jeopardize efforts to curb climate change if he is confirmed.

Trump picked industry executive Chris Wright as his nominee to be Energy secretary and to join a new Council of National Energy.

Wright, CEO of the oilfield services firm Liberty Energy and a major Republican donor, said last year that “there is no climate crisis.”
