As his first year as a starting college quarterback progresses, Aidan Chiles says he believes Michigan State football remains his right place to grow.

Facing fourth-and-4 just shy of midfield on the opening drive of the third quarter, Aidan Chiles took a shotgun snap four yards deep. As the pocket collapsed, the Michigan State quarterback keep moving his feet – another seven yards back to the 37 – before a target came open.

The 19-year-old quarterback has managed pressure both on and off the field, which only increases as the season winds down.

The Spartans (4-5, 2-4 Big Ten), who have lost five of their last six, have a bye next week before playing at Illinois on Nov. 16. Asked if he expects Chiles to play against the Fighting Illini, coach Jonathan Smith said “Yeah, I would.”

Michigan State football is going to need a strong performance from quarterback Aidan Chiles in these final two weeks if they're going to reach the postseason. The Spartans return home this week in a Friday night matchup against Purdue.
