USC was placed on one year of probation and fined $50,000 after an NCAA investigation found that the football program exceeded the permissible number of countable coaches by six during two academic years from 2022-23.

The NCAA has put the USC Trojans football team on a one-year probation and face a $50,000 fine for coaching violations, according to a report from 247 Sports. USC coach Lincoln Riley will not be suspended as apart of the action,

USC coach Lincoln Riley exceeded the number of staff members allowed to act as coaches and was sanctioned by the NCAA, the organization announced.
